Job Description & Requirements

Come live, work, and play in Southeast Alaska!

Be a part of the Alaska Mountain Guides/Chilkat Guides team and join us this summer in Southeast Alaska where mountains and glaciers meet the ocean! We are currently seeking to fill raft guide, sea kayak guide, rock climbing guide, zip-lining guide, canoe guide, ATV guide and CDL Bus Driver jobs for summer 2019!

Most positions will be from April through September.

For Guiding jobs, we train well-qualified novices. In order to participate in training, a future employee would have to be in Haines or Skagway, Alaska in mid-April or May depending on which guide school is necessary for the position. Our guide schools are free of charge for employees, however in order to work for us a future employee would need to be certified in First Aid/CPR (Wilderness First Responder preferred for all positions and required for some positions), and Swiftwater Rescue (for rafting positions). While we can place future employees in these classes here in Haines, these certification courses have fees associated with them (which can be deducted from future paychecks) and space is limited. Our season ends officially ends on October 5th, but special consideration can be made for college students who need to leave early to return to school. The pay range for guiding jobs is $10 - $14 per hour plus tips.

Skagway and Haines are located at the north end of the Lynn Canal and are both an adventurer's paradise. Towering mountains, deep fjords, abundant wildlife and glacially fed rivers make the setting for an unforgettable summer!  Access to rafting, biking, hiking, climbing, skiing, kayaking and fishing in your free time is abundant and immediate.

End of season bonuses are provided for guiding positions and limited company housing is still available.
