Summary of Position:

Manages the sales activities of his or her portfolio of customers and their manufacturing partners.

Essential Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Develop and execute strategies in the outdoor, athletic, and lifestyle footwear markets, to achieve corporate goals of short, mid, and long-term growth of sales and brand reputation.
  • Manage an existing portfolio of brands and aggressively target new potential customers
  • Develop sales forecasts and performance goals; and periodic sales results reports.
  • Review market analyses to determine customer needs, price competiveness, profit potential.
  • Present products and strategies to a wide range of audiences including designers, developers, and product, marketing, and senior executives. Expresses ideas clearly, gets customer interest, finds buying motives, exhibits product knowledge, overcomes objections, asks for the order, maintains self control, knows when to listen, knows when to close, builds goodwill for the future, etc.
  • Visit customers on a regular basis, bringing well-planned value-add products, programs, service.
  • Lead teams of internal design, development, and marketing colleagues in support of customer development and sales projects.
  • Collaborate with marketing team to develop and execute co-op sell-in and sell-through programs.
  • Monitor and evaluate the activities, performance, and products of the competition.
  • As required, travel domestically globally for customer and internal company meetings.
  • Work dependably and independently with minimal supervision; bring creative ideas from previous experience to improve company processes and value-add to customers
  • Comply with company policies and procedures; may be required to perform other duties as required.

Required Experience:

Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Sales, marketing, retail, and customer service background.

Experience in the Footwear/Outdoor markets preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft office suite; Excel, Power Point
