The subsidiary, ABUS Mobile Security Inc., based in Chicago IL, is a small entity focusing on marketing and promoting the sales of bicycle and motorcycle locks and helmets to dealers and distributors in the US and Canada. 


Job Expectations:


The candidate is expected to assist, teach, and show the sales representatives of our distributors how to sell our products, as well as have direct interaction with dealers.   This will require the candidate to travel regularly and efficiently with selected sales reps from our distributors throughout the year.


The sales manager will have a defined territory.  The sales manager is expected to travel within their territory on a regular basis to increase brand awareness, close sales, push our products, and represent our brand exclusively and in the best way possible.


The sales manager will be expected to attend both customer events (dealer shows, motorcycle or bike shows, promotion & sales events, etc.) and exhibitions (conventions, shows, events, etc.) during regular business days and weekends as part of their responsibilities. 


The sales manager will collect and communicate critical market information including customer responses, feedback, and ideas to the General Manager.


Extensive travel is required.



In addition, the following points are part of the job requirements:


  • Follow up on regular basis with consumer conversations, shop questions, and account communication.


  • Continue to enter and maintain new dealer contact information into our database. 


  • Assist marketing team in various projects including being be part of videos and photo material for ABUS’s marketing efforts.  


  • Other areas may grow with personal talents of the candidate and needs of the company


  • Some accounting functions for expense reports and market tracking.


  • Participating and/or organizing some local events in sales managers territory      


  • We are looking for a person with sales experience, while more importantly, having a passion and talent for sales. The person should have an ability to close deals, and to present our products and advantages to potential customers effectively with a sales goal in mind.


- ABUS is looking for a person with excellent organizational skills, who can organize travel, customers, and priorities quickly, as well as someone who can handle tasks outside of those duties “wearing a different hat” every day.


- ABUS requires someone who has an ability to multitask, organize, and follow up consistently with sales communications.


- We seek a candidate with a very good level of computer skills: Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint is a must have skill. 


- ABUS prefers candidates who had exposure to the bicycle and/or motorcycle industry.  This may be a person who has worked for a retail business or other business in the industry.


- Due to the extensive contact to customers and clients in the industry, we are seeking a person with excellent writing and verbal communication skills in English and if possible Spanish and French.


- The person should have an ability to represent ABUS Mobile Security, Inc. and present our products and advantages to potential customers effectively at a show, on the phone, or in a shop, with appropriate manners and personal skills.


- ABUS is seeking a candidate with technical affinity and some mechanical understanding; someone who can quickly understand technical advantages and explain such features and advantages to customers respectfully yet convincingly.


- The candidate should have a humble, positive, and understanding personality, while also connect with people well, and yet be a good extraverted sales person.


- The job requires the highest amount of integrity, honesty, and self-driven motivation due to the nature of the office environment. This requires a high level of working within a team.


- Ideally, the candidate has a passion for both bicycling and motorcycling, and other outdoor activities.
