Position Description & Requirements

As a member of St. Croix's Leadership Team and reporting directly to the CEO, the Director of Sales sells St. Croix products by implementing national sales plans and supervising regional sales managers. The ideal candidate enjoys the sales process, has strong relationship and communi-cation skills, is self-motivated, and has sales leadership experience in the outdoor industry. The responsibilities of the Director of Sales will include:

  • Determining annual unit and gross-profit plans by implementing marketing strategies and analyzing trends and results
  • Establishing sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotas for re-gions and territories
  • Projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products
  • Implementing national sales programs by developing field sales action plans
  • Maintaining sales volume, product mix, and selling price by keeping current with supply and demand, changing trends, economic indicators, and competitors
  • Establishing and adjusting selling prices by monitoring costs, competition, and supply and demand
  • Completing national sales operational requirements by scheduling and assigning team members and following up on work results
  • Maintaining national sales staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training team members
  • Monitoring national sales staff job results by counseling and disciplining team members; planning, monitoring and appraising job results.
  • Increasing professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies
  • Contributing to the team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Interacting with outdoor industry major accounts
  • Understanding and having experience with Direct-To-Consumer sales
  • Responsibility for oversight of the Customer Operations team, Factory Store team, Re-gional & International Account Managers, and Independent Sales Reps
  • Serving as a member

To qualify for consideration for the Director of Sales position, St. Croix is requesting the follow-ing qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in sales management (preferably within the outdoor industry) at a corporate level
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications " Proven experience developing and managing budgets
  • Knowledge of retail, e-commerce, and trade channel distribution
  • Ability to travel to meet the needs of the position

The Director of Sales position will be located at the home of St. Croix Rods, which is Park Falls, WI.
