Job Description & Requirements

Community Engagement Coordinator


The Community Engagement Coordinator is primarily responsible for creating & fostering relationships with our local community to promote and grow our rental and tourism business. This individual will spend ~30% downtown Denver drumming up new rental and tour business, ~20% providing eBike tours of downtown, and ~50% of their time at our main Littleton eBike shop.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Contribute in multiple roles including outreach, sales and repairs

  • Staff local events promoting rental & tours business

  • Maintain high level sales ability

  • Remain up-to-date on current product offerings

  • Foster growth of “community” in retail facility

  • Provide exemplary customer service including the handling of customer complaints if/when they arise

  • Promote open communication between sales, non-profit and service departments

  • Maintain a fun and positive environment for customers and employees

  • Provide an atmosphere with a high degree of cleanliness and organization throughout the store

  • Check work email and respond at the beginning and end of every shift

  • Work with / train interns as required

  • Generate & maintain relationships with hotels, apartment complexes, retirement homes, etc. to promote rental & tour business

  • Provide detailed information about product & service offerings

  • Generate & distribute marketing materials as necessary

  • Monitor and maintain quality control systems for rental and tour business

  • Engage and inform guests about landmarks and history of Denver

  • Ensure safety of guests as they tour in an urban environment

  • Perform basic mechanic “check - ins” on bikes at the end of each day

  • Coordinate with Mockery Brewery staff as necessary

  • Maintain an organized and professional work space

  • Photograph guests as appropriate for use on marketing outlets

  • Work Weekends


Education/Experience: 

  • Experience in generating new business

  • Experience in marketing

  • Experience in tour guiding - PLUS

  • Cycling enthusiast - PLUS

Physical Demands:

GoodTurn Cycles is a nonprofit social enterprise dedicated helping people achieve better health and providing job training to young people. Our shop specializes in sales, rentals and tours of electric bicycles (e-bikes), and repairs for all bikes.

 

GoodTurn Cycles is home to a job training program for young people with barriers to employment. Our paid internship program takes our interns through a bicycle mechanics, customer service and mentorship curriculum in which we develop transferrable basic employability skills. Although we have dedicated staff to perform the training, all employees have the opportunity to have a positive impact on our interns through mentor engagement and supplementary training.
