Job Title: Staff Accountant
Department: Finance & Operations
Reports to: Finance & Operations Director
Objective:
The Staff Accountant, in partnership with two other accountants, will be responsible for various accounting functions in the NSP national office. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Finance & Operations Director.
Responsibilities:
- Learn the billing IT systems and recognize revenue, compliant with ASC 606, across assigned income streams
- Prepare payroll, manage employee benefits and company’s 401k
- Prepare accounts payable, complete check runs and ACH payments as needed
- Perform account reconciliations, analysis, and journal entries
- Prepare bank reconciliations
- Manage property tax filings
- Assist with month-end close procedures
- Assist with annual financial audits and preparation of various tax returns
- Prepare state charitable solicitation registrations
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting process
- Manage leases and fixed assets including additions/disposals and monthly reconciliation, ensuring depreciation is calculated correctly
- Special projects as assigned

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
- At least 3 years relevant work experience
- Experience processing payroll
- Working knowledge of GAAP and accrual accounting
- Intermediate Excel and knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- A proclivity for process improvement and automation
Preferred:
- Experience recognizing revenue under ASC 606
- QuickBooks experience
- CPA license
- A passion for the outdoor industry, especially skiing/snowboarding and mountain biking
