Mountainman Outdoor Supply Company is looking for an assitant manager for our downtown Saratoga Springs location.  This position will be responsible for all aspects of the day to day running of a vibrant outdoor specialty retailer.  If you are the right person to join our team of employees who pride themselves on the work they do, you will become part of an amazing family of outdoor enthusiasts.   We provide a flexible schedule, retirement plan, paid vacation, substantial discounts on merchandise, and a positive, friendly work environment.

 

Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):

=      Provide exceptional customer service through mentoring team members and leading as an example on the floor.

=      Hire, train, and schedule staff while maintaining payroll targets.

=      Achieve targets for sales, margins, customer service, and conversion rate.

=      Execution and oversight of daily store operations, including financial reporting, analysis, and coaching for success plans

=      Sales tracking and inventory supply management.

=      Work with Marketing Director to develop and implement location specific promotions and events.

=      Responsible for leading and controlling the inventory, sharing responsibility for forecasting sales, inventory and margins, managing pricing strategy, and ensuring appropriate levels of liquidity in the business at all times.

=      Ensuring we are in position to meet or exceed both sales growth and profit margin objectives consistently in all channels of business.

=      Assist in managing category and brand strategy.

=      Developing and overseeing seasonal conversions, as well as entry and exit strategies.

=      Seasonally help identifying the best brands, products, and business opportunities and building the plans/execution strategies necessary to bring them to market successfully.

=      Building strong and mutually-productive partnerships with suppliers.

=      Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

 

Ideally you will have:

=      3+ years of proven experience at Store Management level in a specialty apparel and/or outdoor retail POS environment.

=      Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

=      Merchandising skills and experience.

=      Marketing skills and financial acumen.

=      Ability to work weekends.

=      Demonstrated ability to motivate, lead and delegate.

=      Must exhibit a high degree of flexibility, maintain a solution-driven focus in challenging situations, adapt quickly to changing business requirements.

=      Excellent computer skills and experience with MS Office and POS systems.
