Consumer Goods Director of Marketing (Extraordinary & Accomplished Candidates Only)

*This role is predominately remote with the occassional need to go into the office.  Must reside in the Chicagoland area*

Position Overview:

The Director of Marketing will be an accomplished, entrepreneurial-minded leader with a passion for developing teams and building brands. Possesses the ability to enable change based on data, insight and creative story telling in order to develop and continually evolve a fully integrated marketing strategy for Dometic Americas.

Duties:

  • Manage the brand positioning, content and messaging across all areas of our brand communications
  • Act as a senior strategic brand leader. Interpret business insights and signals via internal and external market indicators to evaluate the health/image of the brand and products
  • Partner with Sub-Section Leaders to understand key market drivers and pursue opportunities to build OEM, retail and consumer communication
  • Build and develop a high-performance team and culture and establish a cadence of individual accountability, alignment, and collaboration through clear and concise communication of expectations and goals
  • Manage the Brand Marketing team to deliver promotions and materials that will drive growth, such as point of sale, events, social media, printed collateral, packaging, digital media, video, and more
  • Create, build, & maintain an ongoing three-year product life-cycle plan and budget across all core brands
  • Synchronize with the outside sales and eCommerce teams to execute successful product launches and current marketing plans
  • Manage Public Relations and communications efforts at both the brand and corporate level
  • Oversee and coordinate the team execution, and success measurement for all Dometic industry events
  • Work with the Product Management organization to define and establish product development process and then deploy it across the organization
  • Track and analyze the use of crucial marketing resources and assets to maintain a high return on investment
  • Foster an atmosphere across brands and geographies that encourages innovation thought leadership exchange and synergies within the product elements of the business
  • Possess ultimate financial responsibility and accountability for all aspects of budgeting and planning


Who are we looking for

Qualifications and Experience

We believe that the ideal candidate has the following qualifications and experiences:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or related field required; equivalent experience may be substituted
  • Minimum 10 years of experience and delivery of strong results in Marketing, Product Management, Brand management, engineering, and marketing-related activities including B2B and B2C
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to understand a balance sheet and income statement and build innovative products while delivering on the bottom line
  • Enthusiastic, passionate, self-starting approach to work and life overall
  • Ability to develop and manage a high performing team focused on accountability and meeting and exceeding expectations
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a willingness to roll up sleeves “get stuff done”
  • Ability to lead with flexibility during Dometic’s growth journey
  • Experience with a passionate customer/user community
  • A senior-level leader that is decisive, and learns from mistakes
  • Fosters a fun work environment balanced with working hard and delivering results
  • Possesses the skills to provide a professional presentation for the board, a bank, customers or other internal teammates
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel required
  • Experience navigating cross-channel go-to-market scenarios regarding pricing, map, and product rollout across all distribution, e-commerce, retail, marketplace a plus
  • Outdoor and/or RV industry experience preferred
  • Digital transformation experience preferred
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally, up to 50%
