The Land Sport Operations Assistant Manager at the Whitewater Center leads the team of Supervisors and front-line staff responsible for assisting and guiding guests through land-based activities on the Center’s 1,300 acre footprint. This role must train and coach staff on all Land Sports operating and safety procedures, in addition to implementing future processes to continuously improve the quality of the Whitewater Center’s recreational activities. The Land Sport Operations Assistant Manager reports to the Land Sports Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Responsibility for daily operations of all Land Sports activities alongside other Supervisors/Assistant Managers.
- Manage an efficient staffing operation and demonstrate an awareness of situation factors that change the approach to Land Sport activities.
- Staff and lead projects to maintain activity areas, inspect equipment and infrastructure and improve staff process execution
- Scheduling of Land Sport Supervisors and Coordinators
- Maintain high safety standards in all aspects of the guest experience.
- Provide field support to assist the Land Sport team as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of operational systems for low/high challenge courses and climbing walls.
- Strong leadership and public speaking skills.
- Ability to effectively supervise and manage a team of hourly and salaried staff
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and focused on the guest experience.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification.
- A degree in Commercial Recreation, Outdoor Education or related field is preferred.

The Outdoor Activities Department is responsible for leading and supporting experiences in a variety of water and land-based sports. The department also instructs guests through the Whitewater Center’s Outdoor School and Summer Camps. Outdoor Activities employees engage with guests through an assortment of pass activities and help create memorable outdoor experiences.
