This Role:

Manufacturing Operations Purchasing Associate  to keep production orders running smoothly despite this increased complexity, ensuring we hit our financial targets and production goals. You will report to the VP Global Operations and work closely with the Planning, Product Development, and Finance teams as well as our Contract Manufacturers in China to execute back-end operations. In this role, you will be a critical member of the manufacturing team ensuring we produce inventory against our demand plan and are able to ship products on time. Our manufacturing operations are rapidly growing in scale and complexity - we’re building more products each year with an increasingly high-touch supply chain. We are seeking a

 

You Will:

  • Purchasing: Place production orders to meet our dynamic demand plan and ensure payments are made on time;
  • Track component and raw material inventory at our contract manufacturers and suppliers premises to help ensure consistent product supply;
  • Track process exceptions such as spot buys, risk buys, and deviation requests and help manage accordingly;
  • Provide support to the in-market production management team as needed to keep production on track. May include reviewing production plans with Contract Manufacturers and working with suppliers and internal stakeholders;
  • Keep internal supply chain tracking tools up to date to make sure nothing falls through the cracks;
  • Join weekly supplier / contract manufacturer meetings to review open orders and go over operational challenges;
  • Maintain accurate and well organized file storage relating to production orders and vendor records;
  • Ensure documentation in our ERP system is accurate and kept up to date;
  • Support with vendor set ups, item set ups and other ERP administration as needed.

 

You Have:

  • 3+ years of professional experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or a related field; preferably working with contract manufacturers and suppliers in China;
  • BA/BS degree in Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field;
  • Some familiarity with production processes, including production planning, material handling, and production reporting;
  • Working knowledge of electronic products and comfort discussing technical concepts relating to electronic products;
  • Project management skills, including the ability to coordinate across teams and suppliers to meet a set timeline and comfort managing stakeholders across a cross functional team;
  • Willingness to get in the weeds on projects to keep things running smoothly;
  • Incredible organizational skills - you are extremely disciplined and able to manage a lot of moving pieces using organizational tools;
  • Comfort balancing competing demands;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;
