If you're adventurous, crave open spaces and the outdoors and love to share them with others, then we want you. Here's the details:

Adventure Guide, now - September

Requirements: Wilderness First Responder, Adult CPR certification, Leave No Trace Trainer Cert, Valid Driver’s License and comfort operating a vehicle (don't have these certs and are still interested...please contact us)

Preferred Credentials: training and professional experience in guiding and/or outdoor education (i.e. NOLS, Outward Bound, degree in Outdoor Education or related field, Wilderness Therapy, other Adventure Travel Companies, etc). Speak and write English fluently.

Age: 23+

The primary responsibility is to create a memorable, safe and fun experience for our guests. Our trails are not technical, and while challenging are meant to be a moderate adventure for our guests. We choose routes that are off the beaten path and away from the crowds. Even at Mount Rainier we push beyond the usual trails to find serenity.

Responsibilities include (but not limited to); prep all gear and food, conduct a pre-trip orientation meeting, assist guests in learning the basics of what they need to know (backpack adjusting, trail etiquette), natural and human history interpretation, risk management, cook and clean, and gear repair in the field.

Competence in backcountry travel, strong leadership, teaching/interpretation skills, and communication skills are a must. The ability to find common ground and connect with novice guests of different ages, backgrounds and nationalities.

Must have a reliable vehicle, mobile phone with texting capability. Ability and willingness to pick up and carry a heavy backpack for multiple hours/days. Availability June – September.
