US Operations: The DT Swiss North American facility in Grand Junction, CO, brings in raw materials, sub-assemblies and finished goods from other facilities. Products are made, assembled and repackaged there for internal consumption or shipment to bicycle manufacturers or distributors.

 

Position: Aftermarket Sales Specialist Americas

Reports: to Chip Barbieri, CEO and General Manager, DT Swiss Americas

And Jan Oelerich, Global Director ASM Sales, DT Swiss, Rheda-Wiedenbrück

 

Challenge: The Aftermarket Sales Specialist Americas (ASM Specialist) is based at the Grand Junction, CO, headquarters. (Note: Position location is non-negotiable.)

 

The ASM Specialist leads relationship management in all areas of the business process for bicycle distributors with headquarters in North and South America. The mission of the ASM Specialist is both external and internal simultaneously.

 

DT Swiss relies on the ASM Specialist’s continuous, detailed engagement with the stake holders of the distributor clients and with internal cohorts and departments of DT Swiss globally. Key North American distributor clients include Quality Bicycle Products, JBI Bike, BTI and Outdoor Gear Canada.

 

Responsibilities:

* Build long-term, professional sales and support relationships.

* Know the same (if not more) about the clients’ activities than they know themselves. 

* Participate dynamically and continuously to achieve the overall global sales objectives.

* Travel to key distributors and wheel builders to maintain strong personal relationships.

* Communicate constantly with the client companies and DT Swiss stakeholders.

* Understand what DT Swiss competitors (by product type) are doing in the market.

 

Skills:

* Strong written and verbal communication skills.

* Collaborate and build data-based trust with all relevant personnel within clients.

* Assess distributor needs and provide constructive solutions (products or services).

* Prioritize competing tasks and complete them in a timely manner.

* Experience in and understanding of the cycling industry is strongly preferred.

* Technical comprehension of cycling products is a must.

* Strong attention to detail and keen analytical capabilities. 

 

Experience:

* A four-year college degree is necessary.

* Minimum five years technical sales experience in manufacturing environment.

* CRM (customer relationship management) software experience is necessary.

* SAP or other large ERP (enterprise resource planning) software is a plus.

* Computer literacy in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).

* Bilingual in English and Spanish or German is a plus.

 

Travel: Estimated between 20 – 30 percent of time.
