Job Description & Requirements

The Simms Planning team is growing and we’re looking to fill the role of Planner I. This is a full-time, in-house position based in Bozeman, Montana.

Planner I

The Planner I is responsible for the accurate creation, maintenance, and communication of the operational information and tools critical to the success of Simms’ Planning & Purchasing organization. Through immersion in the foundational operational infrastructure of the company, they execute these responsibilities with strong attention to detail, sound operational and mathematical acumen, and effective communication with global vendors and internal stakeholders.

 Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

·       Consistent adherence to key timelines and milestones in Simms’ inventory planning, purchasing, and operational data infrastructure.

·       Participation in the creation, definition, and maintenance of key operational information and tools including:

o   Detailed product database creation and maintenance, including SKUs, seasonal product collections, and associated planning related parameters (supplier, lead time, minimum order quantity, size curve %, etc,).

o    Vendor specific inventory planning “Roll Forward” tools.

o    Purchase order creation and communication.

·       Supporting the Purchasing & Supply Chain Manager to ensure on-time delivery of product through all phases of the product delivery lifecycle including:

o   Clear and accurate communication of purchase orders to vendors around the world.

o   Tracking of WIP reports to help identify and navigate through supply chain issues.

o Providing insight to the broader inventory team on delivery schedule for inbound purchase orders.

·       Facilitation of key finished goods inventory and supply chain planning reviews with senior Planning & Supply Chain associates.

·       Support of senior supply and demand inventory planning associates through ad-hoc inventory reviews, issue resolutions, and operational infrastructure improvements.

·       Partner with product development team to drive process and timeline adherence, and to maintain accurate product information.

·       Maintain accurate information in Simms’ key Planning infrastructure including Microsoft Navision and Anvyl.

·        Effectively communicate necessary information across all Simms’ stakeholders.

·        Constantly seeking and improving workflows for greater efficiency and visibility.

Requirements:

·       Adept in Microsoft Excel.

·       Exceptional written and verbal communication.

·       0 – 2 years of relevant experience.

·       Strong academic track record, including a bachelor’s degree and coursework that is relevant to this role.

·       Previous industry experience, specifically in a planning related function, is a plus.

·       Previous experience with Adobe Illustrator, ERP systems and PLM software is a plus.
