Position Summary:
The Quality Supervisor will report directly to the Quality Control Manager, coordinates department activities and special projects. Directs staff in at location in accordance with good measuring practice using all inspection tools, WI’s and Visual Aids. He or she will organize department work flow to meet production supports needs. Recommends equipment needs to facilitate inspection activities.  Establishes processes to stream line work flow and inspection methods. Assist in maintaining WI’s and Control Plans to correlate to process or part changes. Working with R&D Engineers to create WI’s for processes on testing new products. In this position expedient communication with the Quality Control Manager, QC Inspectors, QE’s and Management team is critical. This person will also be an active inspector as scheduling requires.  Responsible for efficient first article inspection/problem resolution.  Applies experience to perform root cause analysis and corrective action. Maintains and updates all Deviations/Waivers for area of responsibility. Responsible for all inventory of weapons in the armory including Government Furnished Equipment ensuring that the guns are kept in a clean condition and an accurate round count is kept on them. Communicate with suppliers through email or traveling to visit in person to eliminate any downtime caused by supplier’s components.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
*Direct inspectors, coordinate department inspection activities to support production and shipping needs.
*Evaluate department processes. Recommend and coordinate needed changes based on process analysis to assistant production requirements and quality checks.
*Provides inspection activity for product through production cycle.
*Position inspectors to meet production and OSP inspection needs.
*Provide training to the inspectors when needed. Coach and provide development advice to staff.
*Will assist Management team with keeping all tooling, gaging, and working instructions up to date.
*Assist R&D Engineers to create WI’s for processes on testing new products.
*Directly supervises Quality Control Inspectors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
*Responsible for staff work assignments/rotation, employee training & back-up absent employees.  Recommends adjustments to staff among facilities to cover needs.
*Responsible to meet department productivity and quality goals.
*Seeks and acts upon ways to improve daily work processes to enhance quality, productivity, and satisfy customer needs and expectations; looks for cost reduction and service improvements; eliminates unnecessary or low priority work; initiates and encourages others to resolve impediments and act on improvement opportunities.
*Act as main communication point between inspectors/leads, operators and managers.
*Will identify problems and maintain constant communication with the Ammo Engineers and help finding the fix.
*Assist with 5s sustainment activities.
*Communicate directly with suppliers on issues in a professional manner.
*Responsible for inventory of serialized items in Armory
*Maintains and updates all Deviations/Waivers for area of responsibility.
*Other duties as assigned.

   
Education and/or Experience:
*3+ years of supervising experience
*Accomplished reading, writing, and math skills required.
*Proficient in using and training for all equipment used in Quality inspections.
*Proficient with using MS Word and Excel, as well as, Sig specific programs (e.g., Oracle, )
*Able to problem solve multiple issues at the same time

Working Conditions:
*Able to lift up to 25 pounds
*Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated areas.
