Ocean Rodeo is a leading innovator within the Wind Sports Industry and is growing its market share rapidly on a global scale. At Ocean Rodeo, we develop new and innovative kiteboarding kites, wings, boards and accessories that are resetting user expectations. We are looking for the right Product Developer to join our team and work with our designers and engineers to help deliver the next generation of kiteboarding equipment. This is an opportunity to work with very experienced and successful designers while bringing your own valuable skills to our team.

Key Responsibilities

• Work closely with Product Design by developing resolved solutions that stay true to the original intent and vision for the product.
• Work with design to build prototypes that allow for solutions to be tested, reviewed, and validated.
• Manage in field testing programs, documenting and presenting feedback in a concise and timely manner.
• Manage material testing and documenting the outcomes of various material suitability evaluations.
• Document construction processes and techniques
• Regular communication with partner factories
• Ability to periodically travel overseas to work with partner factories
• Develop detailed project plans with timelines, keeping the project and teams on schedule throughout the development cycle
• Own product documentation, ensuring clear scalable construction in a bulk production environment.
• Provide recommendations on final material selection. Documenting final materials and coordinating with suppliers on the final approved material.
• Collaborating with sample rooms at our factory partners to teach new construction techniques, develop concept samples and resolve patterns

You bring

• 3+ years’ experience working in a technical hardgoods design environment
• Comfortable and confident with project management, fostering a collaborative team environment while seeing projects through to completion.
• Primarily focused on hardgoods and accessories, but have some experience with technical apparel
• Strong understanding of CAD (Preferably Fusion 360)
• Working understanding of pattern making
• Comfortable sewing, welding, gluing, 3D printing and working with patterns.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe Illustrator. Ability to pick up new computer applications quickly
• You are passionate about getting outside and participate in a variety of outdoor activities.
• Bonus: A strong knowledge of Wind Sports products and interest/involvement in Wind Sports activities.
• Experience collaborating with Business-to-Business customers
• Valid passport and the ability to travel internationally
