WIND & FOIL CATEGORY MANAGER for WND&WVS

WND&WVS is looking for a passionate and motivated wind & water sport enthusiast to be our WIND PRODUCT MANAGER. This person will manage all operations related to
kiteboarding, winging, foiling, and windsurfing for WND&WVS. This is a new, full-time, year-round position based in Burlington, Vermont. Responsibilities include category planning & strategy, marketing & sales and customer service for all wind- related gear. An intimate knowledge of retail buying and sales and e-commerce is required. The perfect candidate will possess a thorough understanding of the wind & water sports industry with the technical skills to back it up.

Retail Sales Responsibilities

• Manage sales and budgets for the wind product categories
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to negotiate best price, guaranteed sales, markdown allowance terms, and shipping to improve costs of goods sold
• Attend various industry trade shows
• Determine pricing, margins, and markdowns of merchandise
• Purchasing strategy for all wind equipment needed for retail sales
• Responsible for receiving deliveries, merchandising the sales floor and inventory management
• Customer phone calls and warranty claims process
• Answer daily e-mails from customers to guide them through the selection process of equipment
• Coordinate customer gear repairs and product assembly
• Assist with a variety of WND&WVS duties as needed, including floor sales of surfboards and SUP equipment, wetsuits, and related gear
• Management and training of staff on wind categories

Website & Online Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a strategic plan for marketing online
• Add/edit product content on wndnwvs.com including product photos, unique descriptions, optimized descriptions for SEO, and creation of product packages
• Coordinate internet sales and daily fulfillment of orders

Marketing & Promotional Responsibilities

• Develop strategies for new business and promotional ideas
• Engage the local wind community through promotions and events
• Promote winter snow & ice kiting, winging, and windsurfing
• Create and edit simple 3-5 minute You Tube quality product videos as well as photos
• Promote wind-related gear through various advertising mediums including

Digital Media, Social Media, and Print Media

• Create online promotional campaigns, cross promotion of items
• Create content of technical articles/newsletters

Lessons & Camps at the Burlington Surf Club

• Oversee WND&WVS Wind School; including the kiteboarding, wing, foil, and windsurfing lessons and camps
• Oversee booking of lessons and coordinate with instructors
• Manage the wind sports rental gear and locations
• You should be prepared to teach lessons, if needed

Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree
• 3-5 years related retail experience
• Strong social skills with a customer service background
• E-commerce experience
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
• Occasional air travel is required for this position
• Skills as a surfer and/or SUP surfing and paddling is a bonus
• Boating and jet ski experience is helpful but not required
