We Are Looking for:
An experienced Industrial Designer who will bring innovative new family cargo bikes and accessories to the market by implementing family-focused design systems that push the limits of what it means to be a family bike. You have a passion for mobility and a deep understanding of bike industry standards and trends. You are someone who has a growth mindset, who is independently creative, and ready to lead the Visual Brand Language of Bunch.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design
Experience and Skill Requirements:
4+ years of experience in product development
A portfolio of work that demonstrates:
Experience, skills, and proficiency with 2D and 3D skills (sketching, CAD, and visualization) - Adobe Creative Suite and Autodesk Sketchbook
Proficiency in system designs of hardgood and softgood products that work together
Concept designs using foam, cardboard, fabric, wood, metal, 3D printing, etc.
Comfortable working autonomously to curate ideas and vision via sketches, renderings, prototypes
Strong ability to work remotely and communicate effectively with Product leadership, vendors, and other external parties to develop products from prototypes to mass production
Strong attention to detail to ensure exceptional product capability across systems
Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and constraints that include welding, casting, machining, injection molding, or vacuum forming
General understanding of softgood development and manufacturing processes and constraints
Bonus Points for:
Experience designing e-bikes, strollers, or outdoor gear such as tents and chairs
A passion for cycling and mobility, especially urban commuting
Experience working in a high-growth startup
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
As the sole Designer at Bunch Bikes, you will work closely with the Product Development Manager immediately to implement modern designs for projects already underway. As an experienced designer, you can confidently map out your own action items to implement your design ideas. Action items will include the following responsibilities:
Develop Product Identity Documents informed by user research and insights
Present product concepts and prototypes of all facets of the Bunch Bike to include accessories designed in-house and by other brands as appropriate
Collaborate closely with engineers to move your concept designs to production
Provide technical product guidance and illustrations to Sales and Marketing as assigned
Implement design processes and best practices for Bunch alongside the Product Development Manager
Manage a material library for proprietary soft goods
15% domestic and international travel, pandemic allowing; schedule will vary depending on development timelines
