Finance/Accounting Generalist

A Finance/Accounting Generalist at Simms will perform a variety of scheduled and ad hoc tasks, including assistance with Accounts Receivable, Account Reconciliations, and supporting the Sales Team with Consumer and National Accounts activity.  This role provides a great opportunity to learn the financial and system operations of a growing company that can serve as a launch board to other roles in the finance/accounting department or elsewhere in the Org.

Key Responsibilities and Priorities:

·       Correctly record, apply, and reconcile cash deposits and customer payments.

·       Serve as the bridge between Finance/Accounting and the Sales team, as it relates to troubleshooting problems with direct to consumer, national accounts, and international customers.

·       Own and reconcile transactions related to key distribution channels such as Amazon.

·       Maintains an understanding of contracts and processes with key customers.

·       Assist in tasks associated with month end close of the financial statements.

·       Support ad hoc requests from the Accounting Manager.

Key Requirements:

·       Associates Degree or higher preferred but not required.

·       Prior Professional Accounting/Finance or Administrative experience preferred but not required.

·       Computer/Tech Savvy

·       Proficient in Excel – organizing information, writing formulas, creating new workbooks to solve problems and present solutions.

·       Ability to learn new software’s quickly.
