Job Description & Requirements
We are seeking an experienced Buying Manager to lead our buying team to continued growth. The Buying Manager's responsibilities include developing purchasing strategies, maintaining and building relationships with industry manufacturers, coordinating product lifecycle with internal departments, and overseeing the buying team in their daily responsibilities.
A successful candidate will show the ability to prioritize buying activities and system processes to successfully hit company metrics. In addition, the candidate should have experience forecasting seasonal demand for products while maintaining set inventory levels.
Work location is in our West Valley City, Utah office/warehouse. Salary is BOE, $95K base. Performance and metric driven bonuses are based on a percentage of salary.
Duties and Responsibilities
Forecast sales and margin goals
Create and maintain vendor relationships
Track and report key metrics to leadership team
Manage operations of buying team
Analyze performance of product categories and individual vendor performance
Cross-functionally manage and delegate promotional activities
Meet with vendors and strategically plan assortment and sales goals
Negotiate with vendors for pricing, terms, and delivery
Manage inventory flow to align with overall inventory needs
Manage flow of products from from vendor to website front end
Work to improve buying systems and processes
Skills Needed
Experience in purchasing role or similar position
Extensive knowledge of inventory and supply chain management
Exceptionally strong Excel skills
Process management
Retail/Ecommerce experience
Supervisory and management experience
Strong critical thinking and negotiation skills
Strong planning and organizational skills
