RETAIL CUSTOMER SALES REPRESENTATIVE
Position Summary:
The responsibility of this sales position is to champion and drive the success of the company and to assist in the management of target accounts. Responsibility includes but is not limited to the development of the line, planning and execution of sales presentations and management of all “after the sale activities”.
Additionally, responsible to actively work to identify other product categories (preferably contra-seasonal business) that can be successfully entered and executed and to assist in the successful expansion into these new categories/markets. Further, responsible to drive and or support activities as required in order to fully achieve company goals. This position reports directly to the President.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assume all phases of account management responsibility for the maximization of sales, margin targets, and profitability objectives.
- Develop and implement sales programs that drive volume and/or create new sales opportunities. This specifically includes new categories of product; preferably contra-seasonal to current business.
- A key responsibility of this position is to manage the “associated costs of doing business” with the retailer (DCRAP – Discounts, Claims, Returns, Allowances, and Promotions) in a manner to fully protect the bottom line and to avoid any “surprises”.
- Provide sales reports required to keep the company informed of account(s) status. Provide daily and weekly activity reports as requested in order to keep the senior management team fully apprised of all business issues.
- Travel as required to customers/overseas factories.
- Participation, implementation and development of managing for continuous improvement programs within the company.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills Required:
- Prior experience working with National Accounts a must.
- Must have excellent analytical capabilities.
- Strong personal computer skills.
- Must have excellent communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
- Neat and professional appearance.
- Must clearly display characteristics of integrity, loyalty, and an understanding of the responsibility to protect the profitability of the company.
- Must be able to function effectively in a team environment and earn the respect of team members through actions and contributions; prefer a strong understanding of the principals of managing for continuous improvement.
- BS/BA degree in related field.
- 5+ years of sales management experience.
