The family business Martin Magnusson & Co.  was founded in 1936 and is now run by the fourth generation of Magnussons. Both design and development is done at the headquarters in the small village of Hestra, Sweden.  Our gloves are manufactured in our own factories, and we personally buy all leather, fabric, wool and other materials. This gives us control of the production chain and ensures a high level of quality.  The company operates subsidiaries in the United States, Norway, and Germany as well as agents, distributors and retailers in over 40 countries.

Overview: Hestra Gloves North America is seeking qualified applicants for the role of Staff Accountant. This position will serve as an integral member of our finance team by ensuring that our accounting process are managed with a high level of attention and overall accuracy.  

Position: This position reports directly to the Controller and is a full-time exempt position that requires the individual to be onsite at our corporate offices in Arvada, CO. We do offer an optional one day per week work remote schedule.

 

Staff Accountant

Summary:

 

As a Staff Accountant you will be responsible for the day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring the integrity of the general ledger and financial statements. You will be working closely with other departments to understand, maintain and improve accounting procedures, ensure compliance with GAAP and other financial reporting requirements. This position reports to the Controller.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 3+ years of accounting experience
  • NetSuite experience
  • Experience in Sales Tax, Payroll and Internal controls
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills with focus on Excel.
  • EDI Webforms experience a plus
  • Self-motivated problem solver, positive attitude, team-player

Responsibilities:

  • Daily reconciliation of bank accounts
  • Manage accounts payable including processing vendor invoices, vendor payments and expense reports.
  • Manage accounts receivable including applying checks, credit card payments, bank deposits and E-Comm payment batches.
  • Prepare reports and file sales and use tax
  • Process bi-weekly payroll and benefit maintenance
  • Perform financial close process including journal entries, accounts reconciliation including Fixed Assets, Prepaid and Accrued Expenses.
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support external auditors to ensure timely completion of audit requests and inquires.
  • Assists financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional projects as needed.
